Meridian Stars - Competition Dance Program

We are proud to be part of the STARS National Junior Dance Program. The STARS dance program was established in 1970 and has more than 2,000 members nationwide, with locations in 7 states and over 20 studios! Dancers learn proper dance technique, fun and challenging routines, and many life skills.

Our Competition Teams are designed for students who cherish dance as the "heart and soul of their being". Since Competition Showteam requires 4-5 hours per week of commitment, it is not for everyone. If you are a dancer 4.5-18 years old and love participating in several activities, then it would be better for you to partake in a recreational class and performing in two recitals.

STARS Competition Showteam gives students the opportunity to grow in dance, work as a team, as well as volunteer in the community. Participants on each team perform at several events during the year such as: Idaho Stampede Games, Festival of the Trees, Freeze Frame, Meridian Dairy Days Parade, and the Idaho Kids Fair. They also travel out of state for regional and national dance competitions.

We have 2 Pre-Teams & 5 Competition Teams:

Rising STARS 1 Pre-Team: Ages 4.5-6.5yrs

Rising STARS 2 Pre-Team: Ages 7-12yrs

Minis Showteam: Ages 4.5-6.5yrs

Smalls Showteam: Ages 7-9yrs

Alls Showteam: Ages 9-13yrs

Supers Showteam: Ages 11-16yrs

Varsity Showteam: Ages 15-18yrs
