"The Meridian Stars Dance Studio has been a wonderful experience for my daughter.  Not only has it given her physical strength, but it more importantly has increased her self esteem.  I believe this strength carries over to all activities outside of the studio including home, school, friendships, etc.  I have found the staff at Stars to be extremely child centered and caring.  My daughter feels loved and cared about there.  This is exactly what I was looking for in a studio!  I would highly recommend the Meridan Stars Dance studio to anyone!!"

About Us

The STARS dance program provides a constructive, creative way to "relate" to the younger generation while at the same time giving them concrete goals which will help develop important life skills.  The contemporary moves, the popular music, the dynamic classes, and the applause-filled performances create a challenging experience that children really enjoy, so it isn't hard to see how self-esteem develops in this positive environment.  Our Studio staff believes that everyone has STAR qualities.  Our STARS' goals encourage the development of important life skills -Teamwork, Dedication, Responsibility, Leadership, and a Strong Self-Image.

STARS is dedicated to a simple philosophy:  A child will excel if they feel good about who they are.  We direct our energies towards ESTEEM-BUILDING CONCEPTS AND OPPORTUNITIES. We aim to give every student the most professional and enjoyable dance education possible.  We continually strive to build self confidence, poise, determination and a sincere love and appreciation for dance.  From our Advanced Dancers to our Tiptoe Tots, this is our mission.

We offer a vast and comprehensive curriculum from beginning through advanced levels, as well as compete throughout the year.

We may be old fashioned but we think parents work hard and deserve to "get what they pay for".  Quality dance training is not cheap, nor should it be, but in return, a dance student should certainly receive their money's worth.

This means top-notch teachers, great choreography and technique training, a professional and organized studio staff, and membership in the national STARS Dance organization.

It's all here and it's all about the STARS!!!!

Our director, Cynthia Rodriguez, has been involved in dance and performing arts for over 30 years.  She has danced all over the country and internationally.  Her background includes a BS degree from Oklahoma State University in Leisure Sciences-Administration and Management.  She attended graduate school at Fresno State in California where she received her K-8 teaching credential and currently teaches 1st grade; she also was a competitve dance team and cheer coach in California. She found the STARS program there and fell in love with their "complete" dance philosophy.  After deciding to move to Idaho, she wanted to bring the program here, hence the creation of Meridian STARS Dance.  Most recently she has trained under dance super stars such as Nancy O'Meara, Tyce Diorio, Sabra, Gregg Russell, Nick Florez plus many others.  She believes in being a life-long learner of dance and participates in ongoing dance education every chance she gets.

Miss Amanda is a native to Meridian.  She graduated from Eagle High School in 2001 where she was a three year member of the Nationally Ranked Eagle High School Edge Dancers.  She was the captain of the team her senior year which she feels prepared her for dance instruction.  This is her 4th year teaching for Meridian STARS.  She has been dancing for 21 years and has trained in many different styles - her favorite being HIP-HOP!  She is currently attending BSU in her senior year studying secondary education.  She also is the head coach for the Borah High School Lion Elite Dance Team.  She has had the opportunity to dance in Disneyland, Disneyworld and on the Big Red Boat in the Bahamas.  Dance is her passion and is something she strives to share with whoever will allow her!  After all, "When you get the choice to sit it out OR dance, I hope you . . . DANCE!"

Already, Taylor Rodriguez has had quite extensive dance training. In California, she was fortunate to be a part of a very successful competition Showteam where she was surrounded by excellent instructors and choreographers.  She has also won many awards, including STARS regionals and Nationals four years in her solo division, Co. Dance Scholarships, Reflections dance choreography State winner, as well as other local dance scholarships.  She still continues her dance education through intensive technique and ballet classes, as well as instructor training through STARS and dance convention/workshops. She has trained under many current dance innovators such as Tyce Diorio, Shane Sparks, Chebar Williams, Sabra, plus many others.  Her goal is to pass along her passion for dance, as well as, instill the importance of hardwork, responsibility, and great dance technique in all of her students.

Miss Tina has been dancing, performing, and competing for over 26 years!! She has had exclusive training in Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Tap, Modern, and Hip-Hop. One of the most fun things that she has enjoyed with dance is getting the oppurtunity to travel all over the country as a Company Dancer for the Chicago Dance Troupe. Currently, she is a Showteam coach for Meridian STARS and a class technique and ballet instructor. Dancing is her biggest life passion and she also loves to share it with as many people as possible! Miss Tina's goal as a dance teacher is for every person in her class to have a thorough understanding of technique, develop self-esteem, respect one another and love dance!!
