Welcome to the Meridian STARS!!

Numerous research shows that children that participate in dance receive

higher grades, are more disciplined, have a higher sense of self-respect,

self-esteem and self-confidence. They also learn that "a job worth doing

is worth doing well". Activities like dance have also shown to help at-risk

students gain the skills and dedication they need to prevent them from

dropping out or becoming involved in crime and drugs.

At STARS we expand upon these skills and take the time to teach

goal-setting, teamwork, commitment, community involvement, nutrition

and more! Our instructors have lots of experience and receive on-going

training in the lastest techniques to improve dance skills and injury prevention.

WE feel that every student should be supported and encouraged

and allowed to SHINE!

We offer a wide variety of dance classes for ages 3 and up including:

ballet ~ creative movement for 3-4 year olds ~ lyrical ~ hip hop

jazz ~ technique training classes ~ conditioning for dance

tumbling ~ performance teams for ages 4 and up

Our competition Showteam has received numerous awards in our short four

years since inception including: Regional and National Championships for our

Production numbers, Individual Teams, Duets/Trios and Solos,

Choreography awards for Originality and Artistic Impression, Technique/Execution

Awards, and Sportmanship. Our competition teams are by audition or invitation

for ages 6 and up.  Parent meeting for the 2009-10 Tryouts is June 11th at 6:00 pm.

Auditions will be the last week in July.

Our new location has all wood-sprung floors to decrease stress related

injuries. Come check out the difference at STARS!

We also offer studio rental for special events, meetings or classes.

We will begin enrollment for Fall Classes starting August 15th with classes starting August 31st.  The new schedule will be online by August 1st - so keep checking back.
