Numerous research shows that children that participate in dance receive higher grades, more discipline, a higher sense of self-respect, self-esteem and self-confidence. They also learn that "a job worth doing is worth doing well". Activities like dance have also shown to help at-risk students gain the skills and dedication they need to prevent them from dropping out or becoming involved in crime and drugs. At STARS we expand upon these skills and take the time to teach goal-setting, community involvement, nutrition and more! WE feel that every student should be supported and encouraged and allowed to SHINE!
